I booked Lucent for a class reunion at Stanford. Lucent scores high on all counts. The location is super, two minutes from Stanford, Menlo Park and Atherton, and walking distance to a number of restaurants and shops on El Camino. Parking and EV charging were excellent. Rooms are spacious, with spectacular newly-redone bathrooms. The public area, lap pool, breakfast area, outdoor area and fire pit were nice. Everything is immaculate, and the place is very quiet. Front desk and housekeeping staff were very courteous and very helpful. Very good value all around.

Hotel was awful! After walking through the lobby, I noticed a distinct FISH odor. The website is very misleading, showing nice photos when this is a 1 star MOTEL.||When I arrived, there was one person at the lobby who checked me in. He was polite and then offered to help me with my bags. I didn’t realize there is no elevator and that all the rooms are outside. He helped with one bag taking it up stairs to the second floor, I took my other bag. I went to my room and was disgusted. There was a fly and hair all over the room. Not to mention, the condition of the room was completely beat up. Damaged walls and corners, needed a deep clean and fresh paint. ||I got a text asking how my stay was where I asked for them to get rid of the fly and sent pictures of the hair all over the room, asked for the room to be cleaned. They replied saying they didn’t know why there would be flys and offered 15% off. I took my bags and got a new room. I told the staff and they said they would escalate to management. 5 minutes later, I received an e-receipt of my bill. Nearly $500 for a room that I didn’t stay at. This place is a joke.

I really was excited to experience this place, although their prices are comparable and competitive to the big hotel names around the area, I really wanted to experience this place, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. I was there only for 1 night for business and I didn't take photos of the place. So take my review as you wish because this is exactly what I experienced.
- Check in process was easy and great, and the hotel looks up to date in some places.
- They gave me room 108: initial check of the room when I got in, looked fine. It was cute, roomy, and I got a 2 bed full beds in the room. But when I booked, I had the impression that I booked the 2nd floor with a balcony. When the gal gave me the room, she didn't seem to tell me that the hotel is fully booked. I was disappointed. Theres nice closet space, good working table, TV was on and welcoming.
- The bed wasn't entirely comfy, but for 1 night it was fine.
- Bathroom: clean and lighting was great. But after inspecting closely, there was hair on the ground near the tub, and inside the tub was a few long pieces of hair too. I decided to turn on the water to wash away the hair pieces so I can shower and rest. As I was turning the knob, the entire knob fell off. I was in shock, but luckily I was able to put it back on to turn the water to the temp I want and shower. It did not stay on though.
- Telephone in room: After my shower, I decided to report my findings to the front desk asap. I tried to call them, but the phone did not work. No dial tone, no nothing. I checked the plug, and it was plugged in, so I wasn't sure what was going on. I looked for their number online, and just called with my cell phone.
- The gal seemed very apologetic and said the maintenance person will be there at 8am. I told her I'll be checking out at 7am.
- Nightstand: As I was getting into bed, I was getting ready to charge my phone to be ready for the next day, I noticed none of the plugs on the nightstand work. Another thing wrong with the room.
- Noise: I couldn't sleep at first, because the hotel is very close to the street and CalTrain. The train was loud at times when it was
- The morning comes: I check out, and tell the man at the front desk, and he didn't seem very apologetic, but he said he'll check on it and the maintenance man next to him was very nice about it and apologized for my troubles.
Sigh, at this point, I think I am really upset and done with apologies. They could have done more, for $415+ one night, and all this I've experienced, they should have give me at least 50% off of what I paid. It was super upsetting. I definitely will not be coming back unfortunately.
- I tried to give it one more chance by checking out the "free" breakfast but when I got their, the options were minimal, not mu cup of tea. I tried to take an apple for the road, but the apples were super soft and the outside skin was wrinkly. Gross!
Good Luck to the next person!

I recently stayed at Hotel Lucent for an extended trip. I traveled to town for a business project, staying at the hotel for approximately 1 week. My project ran longer than I thought, so I had to extend twice, 1st extension I was charged a high rate $340.00, told by the desk attendant (guy), "supply and demand". Upon my 2nd extension, the posted online price was approximately a $190, (posted on the hotel website). The front desk attendant (woman) charged me the high price ($340.00) even though the online for that night was posted on their own website and travel sites. After several phone calls (5) and attempts to speak to the manager (they said the "accountant" would call me) to have the exorbitant fee reduced to the actual listed charge, nobody has bothered to call me back. I don't understand why businesses won't protect customers. My overall bill for my trip exceeded $1,000.00. Paying $340.00 a night for this property and what it offers is high. The room was good, needed some paint touch up. The welcome notification on the TV was someone named "Virginia" (not me). The spa pool was good and free parking was good. Unfortunately, being taken advantage of, I decided to write this post and wouldn't stay at this property in the future.

A group of us stayed 5 nights to celebrate the New Year and attend concerts at the Guild. It was perfect for our group. There were spaces where we could all hang out together. The hotel was clean and the rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff was great. Everyone was happy with their experience. We would definitely stay there again.

Staying at this hotel for business, the room is very spacious. The room I got has two double beds, accommodating four people. The hotel has all the necessary amenities, and the front desk staff are very friendly. The hotel also provides breakfast with decent ingredients, though it's a bit simple with limited choices, and the breakfast options remain the same every day. They also offer complimentary freshly brewed coffee, which is a bonus.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I would not recommend this hotel.
