Best place along with Bixby Beauty Supply they have EVERYTHING you need!!! The staff are courteous polite and very knowledgeable about whatever your looking for.
Love both these stores. Longtime customer over 10yrs.

It is best to just find a black-owned beauty supply store. There was a non Black lady there that was watching me like a hawk. It made me very uncomfortable. I will not be shopping here again and I would suggest that no one else should either considering their selection is nothing special anyways.

Always go their best for black, brown or yellow skin. Hard to find products that r for hair or skin for us White Girls. I still buy there but I stay away from shampoos n conditioners for the hair. Or any product like makeup for the skin. They still have Cocobutter which is a great skin product for any shade of skin. They also have other products good for all.

It saddens me to walk into a store knowingly able to buy anything you desire. And yet being suspected as a thief before you pick u
an item. Since my visit to Joy Beauty Supply I have moved completely away from the Long Beach/Lakewood communities.
Both areas constantly are plagued with high crime and theft activities. As reported on my Ring security system. This store carries a basic inventory with unimpressed wig selection. My only reason for shopping at Joy Beauty Supply is that I was told
it was an African American business, yet I found out otherwise.
I now shop in Torrance and/or Cerittos. They cities have a much
rather acceptable approach to offer an amicable shopping experience to a more diverse clientele.

Ty here responding to Just Me. Coming from a black employee of Joy... We make testers to our make up products, So you don't go and open up a product you're not going to purchase... it has nothing to do with you being black you opened a product you had no business opening and then refused to pay for then it, then sat there and tried to flip it into a race issue which is sad because At Joy we're here for our customers and treat them all equally because at the end of the day its only one race. I just hope you screamed vote the way you screaming racism. But you're no longer welcome in the store unless you want to pay for said item. And to future customers I just want to say all no matter race size weight etc is welcome to joy shop comfortably be comfortable if theres something you don't understand ask a joy employee we're here to help!!

I had a very poor experience at this beauty supply store. The owner (Sam), a tall Asian man, approached me, a black female, and complained that I was taking too long to try on the make-up testers because he had been watching me for over 10 monutes. Then he suggested that I be done now which I responded I'm not sure when I'll be done and didn't know there was a time limit. He then yelled and told me to "Get Out". As I tried to replace the tester foundation bottles in their correct place, he kept yelling "Get out now". I told him to stop harrassing me because I had already agreed to leave. He then followed me to my car and used his phone to record my driver license. I kept telling him to get away from me but he kept following me. I was very uncomfortable. The man appeared to be a maniac who stereotyped me and thought I was not intending to buy make-up. I have a complexion that is hard to match so I was undecided about what foundation and powder to buy. If you are a black person reading this, please do not support this business. Buy your products on Amazon instead or go to another beauty supply store where we are respected.
