What can I say, except that I was a skeptic turned believer. As part of a spa day package, my wife booked us an experience doing a bee spa aromatherapy session. Not really personally believing in what the experience could provide, I was apprehensive to say the least. The day came to arrive and we drove to the quaint town of Loomis, just past one of our favorite breweries, High Hand Brewery. Heading down the country roads, I’m reminded of just how quiet and slow life can be outside of the city. Once we arrived, we stepped out into the fresh air and were greeted by Valera, a lifelong bee keeper. We strolled around the property, watching frogs leap into the tranquil pond nearby, while the sound of the afternoon breeze and trickle of water from the creek was already putting me at ease. In a few minutes, our host arrived. With a big smile, Irina greeted us and showed us to the bee spa. Upon opening the door, the air was awash with the smell of the hives, a sort of warm and comforting smell that wrapped around you like warm cookies on a cold winter day, but it wasn’t a smell I could quite place a finger on. The inside of the tiny structure was welcoming, and deceptively larger inside than its modest exterior would suggest. Two beds were carefully prepared for our arrival as well as two refreshingly delicious cups of ice tea. Once we were settled into the bee house and the door was closed, the buzz of the bees became the only thing that could be heard. We kicked our shoes off and proceeded to lay down on what I assume was a buckwheat bed surface that was surprisingly comfortable. There was a fan inside, but I decided to turn it off because it wasn’t very hot inside and I rather hear the bees. Upon laying my head down on the small pillow I was immediately relaxed by the sound and the smell of the bees. It wasn’t 5 minutes before I fell asleep and the next thing I remember was being woken up by my wife, refreshed and surprised that nearly an hour had already passed.

We kicked our shoes back on and stepping out of the bee house it was a disorienting step back into reality. Like a nap that lasted for hours, I had no idea I’d feel so refreshed. Needless to say, this skeptic has been turned into a believer and if my wife asks if we can do it again, I can wholeheartedly say, “let’s put it on the calendar!” I don’t know if it was the smell, the sound, or the place, but something about this experience was both memorable and unmistakably refreshing. We will be back again!

I enjoyed the experience. The aroma and bees were a completely new experience for me. I felt very relaxed when I woke up from a deep sleep. The 90 minutes was just the right amount of time needed. The staff was very nice, and everything was very clean and sanitary. It was the perfect morning start before exploring Wise Villa Winery and the rest of the area.

What a beautiful, pleasant surprise! I was unsure what to expect but this experience was unique- unlike any other I have ever experienced!
Great location- worth the drive! You walk into a beautiful little wooden cabin that is surrounded by nature. Inside you get to lay on a bed with absolute peace- surrounded with the scents of pollen, nectar, and honey.

I have never felt more relaxed in my life! It was a 90-minute session- the Busy Bees Package. I've heard that there are many health benefits with this type of therapy, especially the bees and I'm looking forward to seeing how it helps me in my daily life.

We had a tranquil and serene first experience, the gentle hum of bees and soothing scents created a calming atmosphere for mind and body. The decor was beautiful, everything was clean and the staff's warmth and friendliness created a truly comfortable experience. Would love to come back again.

Such a peaceful experience! I thought there was a small fan going but it was actually just the bees humming in perfect harmony. The vibration frequency was interestingly both peaceful and energizing at the same time. It was a very enjoyable experience!
