Unfortunately, it's the only option for a full grocery store. Once the busy tourism comes into town and empties the shelves.....it takes them forever to restock. If you don't get there before the crowd....you're stuck with left overs. Don't go in with a grocery list after the crowds....you won't find anything on the list.

Not bad. Good selection of products including bakery goods. Aisles are more narrow than other markets so when it's busy you feel like a rat in a rat race... little room to maneuver grocery carts. That being said, in busy times they tend to have nearly every register open. This is the only major market in town so you don't have much of a choice. It could be a lot worse. I appreciate the cleanliness and number of products available. We shop here everytime we travel to mammoth.

The most expensive Vons in California is also in the worst physical condition ... worn and missing floor tiles, empty shelves, rude employees etc.

During our visit to Vons in Mammoth 12/17 we were trying to locate pimento cheese spread with no luck. I approached a store clerk named Patrick and he took us to the different places where it might be. "No luck" but we will keep trying was his response. He checked the Deli section and found 2 kinds of the cheese! We bought them both and thanked him for his diligence in locating it. Von's needs more employees like Patrick!

The African American produce guy makes the whole experience to shop there uncomfortable. He doesn’t let me pick a head of garlic without complaining that it made a mess and it really sucks to live in this town where this is main grocery store and I can’t go pick some produce without being harassed

The staff at Vons are excellent, and shopping during off-peak hours is a pleasant experience. Avoid visiting between 3-9 p.m., as you’ll likely regret it.

You’ll find a stunning view of the snowy mountain range behind this Vons at golden hour. Easily the most breathtaking views at a grocery store I’ve personally encountered in my life. The store itself complements the view with a fully stocked selection of the finest goldfish and frozen pizzas to keep your snack attacks and dinners easy for your snowboarding trip with the boys.

Drove into Mammoth on Saturday and went to Vons at 0530 hrs on Sunday morning (they are supposed to be open 24 hours). There were a lot of bare shelves and the vegetables looked well picked over. Got the 6 items that I wanted and tried to pay. Self check-out counters were all closed. There was only one cash register light on and NOBODY was there. Put my 6 items on the belt and tried to flag someone to get the cashier out so I could be on my merry way. Nobody came and then I asked some store employees to get the cashier. They told me that they couldn't help me. I had to be back at the rental by 0600 hrs and I was getting mad and frustrated at the situation. So I just walked out of the store and left my items on the conveyor belt. Went back 6 hours later and bought the things I needed. I got one bag and the bagger stuffed it full and then put my lettuce on my beer case and left. The way the shelves were stocked and the attitude of the employees showed that this store was clearly the WORST Vons in California.
Then I went back this morning and had Yolanda Hernandez as the check out person. Greeted me pleasantly, made nice small talk, bagged my groceries and sent me on my way. What a treasure this employee is! Courteous, kind, efficient and a hard worker! Just had to give a shout out to Yolanda.
