This is the best massage I have found anywhere. It is attentive, intuitive and doesn't just follow a script. It always feels tailored to exactly what I need on the particular day. I always get the deep tissue massage which has some Thai elements. After a session I feel light, centered and balanced. Once after a massage from Thea I measured myself and was 1/4 inch taller! I'm not sure the measurement was accurate, but it was good for a laugh and I *felt* taller. If you are new to this type of massage, I recommend starting with 1 hour or 1 1/2 hours. Once you know you like it, try 2 hours which is a workout (for you and for the masseuse).

The shop is not obvious from the street (no big MASSAGE sign) but is tucked into the corner of a building with other professional offices. GPS will probably have you turn off of Sepulveda Blvd. onto Keats St. Be prepared to turn immediately into either of two driveways. The first slopes down to an underground garage. The other is a street level parking lot.

Thea (pronounced “Tia”) is a truly gifted masseuse. One session will remind your body what it feels like to be young and healthy again.

You can tell her what areas to focus on but even if you mention nothing, she will find every knot and clot and untangle it while you melt away.

I highly recommend booking a minimum 2 hour session as you will regret any amount less and if you have the budget, her 4-hands (2 masseuse) session is a 2 hour experience of heaven on earth.

Aside from her many years as an experienced masseuse, she has also trained, hired, managed and worked closely alongside many experienced masseuses. This makes both her personal and 4 hands sessions extremely effective.

She recently opened her own location which is a cozy, upscale spot in Hermosa Beach. The spa is located in a multi-level outdoor mall/plaza so wherever you park, just follow the stairs going to the top level and you will find it.

To reach the parking lot directly in front of her location… if heading North on Sepulveda Blvd. just turn right onto Keats St.. After the turn, you will see an Orange “End Road Work” sign right at the driveway to her parking lot.

This review is for multiple visits i made to this establishment. I work in the area and have been having really bad neck and shoulder pains along with back problems that have been flaring up recently. I usually do not go to massage places due to the fact that the quality of massage usually does not stand up to the price you pay.
However, Calm Spa and Wellness, has changed my whole opinion on that matter. Both Thea and Lin have literally saved my back and neck from years long of constant pain and torture.
For those of you that happen to read this review and are new to the area, they are located on the 3rd level of what used to be an old mall in Manhattan Beach. They are kind of hidden away but if you exit on Keats Street from Sepulveda Blvd, youll easily reach the 3rd level parking right in front of their shop.
I wouldn't say i am a regular customer as of yet, but i have made appointments at different times during the week. What i can tell you is parking can be hectic on weekdays M-F btw 1pm - 4pm due to the fact that there are so many medical and tutoring businesses in the same building so be aware of that. It usually dies down around 5pm ive noticed. I would recommend trying to schedule a session on the weekends as the parking affair is alot more open and you can take your time in arriving and just stroll right in.
What's different about this place is 1.) they are not in the stereotypical shady location youd expect for a massage shop to be. They are neighbored by legitimate dental/medical practices and tutoring businesses, which makes me feel alot more safer to come during any time of the day including evenings. 2.) while small, the shop inside exudes a very cozy atmosphere. Each room has a large one way window that gives "sleeping in on a sunday morning type vibe" especially when you have the warmth of the sun light peeking thru the blinds while you get a massage. I've honestly knocked out a couple times due to this feature. 4.) the massage therapists Thea and Lin are professionals thru and thru in what they do. They are very communicative and just give off such positive energy when it comes to making sure you are ok during the whole session. I cant rave about them enough.

Anyways I hope this review was informative enough for you to give this place a chance. It is sincerely a hidden gem, and they honestly do deserve all the blessings in this community for how much theyve been able to not only help me but apparently others as well from reading their reviews.

I have bee getting massages in the Redondo/Hermosa Beach area since 2007. Of all the massages I have ever gotten, Thea is the most intuitive masseuse I have found. She listens to my needs and is able customize and combine her many style and technique to my satisfaction. I love her new little shop, it's clean and calming. Oh and there is ample parking on the weekends. When Thea, was out of town, I saw Lin, who is also a fantastic masseuse. I am so temped to try the 4 hands, but I'm afraid I might get too spoiled. If you're looking for a shop with top level masseuses, try the Calm and Wellness Spa, your body will thank you!

I had an incredible experience at the Calm & Wellness Spa! The space was impeccably clean with a serene, pleasant ambiance & the staff was incredibly attentive and made me feel truly pampered throughout my visit. Lin’s skill and dedication to providing a top-notch, healing massage was clear, and I left feeling rejuvenated and deeply relaxed. Bonus — the massage beds are sooooo soft, it felt like I was laying on a cloud, and they gave me a bottle of water and sweet treat on my way out. 10/10! I will definitely be returning and highly recommend!!

I have been going to Thea and Lin for years. I work on my feet for long hours so over the years I have had many issues with stiffness/pain all over my body. No matter what issue I have, Thea and Lin have a deep understanding of what could cause the pain, and several methods of treating the pain on and off the table. Their comprehensive understanding in body wellness has given me the ease of mind that no matter what pain I have, it will be taken care of. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. It is definitely worth a visit whether you live in the area or not.

I am so happy to see Thea and Lin in this new location. Thea is the Tom Brady (GOAT) of Thai massage and has been healing my body and spirit for a couple of years at another location. She has the amazing ability or gift to find what is tight or sprained and release it, whether or not you knew that was the problem. She has a unique presence, and I leave there with a relaxed body and a lifted spirit. If you can get an appointment, take it. You will thank me later. Jim-64-Hermosa Beach
