Came in looking for new ski boots, the staff was super helpful. Riley got me fitted for boots and when we tested the compatibility on my old skis (10 years old), he gave me a great deal with a pair of rentals for the rest of the season. Will be coming back once I can afford a pair of new skis!! Plus the brewery upstairs is always a must. I’d come back up here from Denver any day to get his help again and have a great local brew.

The staff at Boone Mountain Sports are exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I always find something functional and attractive from their fun selection of apparel. The equipment technicians make sure any work is completed by the due date if not before. As an added bonus, the shop sponsors many entertaining events right in their parking lot. Great inventory of quality outdoor recreation equipment and really great customer service. I have gone to Boone Mountain Sports to get multiple pairs of cross country skis set up, I have rented downhill skis from them, and they have helped outfit my entire family for skiing. My experience with them has always been top notch and I cannot recommend them enough.

Most times you pay a little more here as it’s a local biz etc etc. but staff is always knowledgeable and happy to help and everyone is happy to chat about their latest trip to the mountains. The family that owns the shop is deeply connected to the community and always involved in cultural and community efforts in the area. Selection is good without being overwhelming…and don’t forget to pop upstairs for a sandwich and a beer!

My husband and I bought our first set of skis from Boone Mountain Sports 3 years ago. It was a really great experience as beginner skiers who wanted gear we could advance in. I have weird feet and the crew spent several sessions with me and getting my boot fitting dialed in. As an anxious newbie to ski gear, that was incredibly encouraging.

More recently, I rented some tele gear from another shop and was really struggling with the bindings. I anticipated a long drive in terrible weather to get the problem solved by the place I rented from decided but to try Boone since it is local to us and we had a great experience in the past.

Logan spent 1.5+ hours with me in the shop helping get the bindings working for me, while also juggling probably 3 other families who needed his attention at the same time. He was friendly and attentive, gave each patron the individualized help that anyone deserves, and was patient with me despite my frustration. I was able to leave the shop feeling confident. Just can't say how much I appreciated that these guys saved me a long/hairy drive, spent so much time with me, and got me the outcome I needed... when it wasn't even their gear.

This place is the best. Can't recommend enough.
