I love this place!! Must get the cheese curds because they are amazing!!! They also have fresh salads that are so yummy!!! The staff are always super helpful! There's gift shop items, a deli, and a gas station/ farm store across the parking lot. I highly recommend this stop! 🧀

Posting my review a bit late, we stopped in here on our way out of Wisconsin on September 13, 2024.

If you want to stock up on cheese curds, wines, or jams, this is your place to go! Wish I would have taken more pictures, but I was distracted by all the good things they have! Our friends who live in Wisconsin told us to stop here and glad we did! What a selection of cheeses! They also have a sandwich place inside so you can get some lunch! Very busy, but we were still able to pick up a good selection of cheese curds to bring back home! The staff is very friendly and will help you find anything you need and answer any questions. There's plenty of parking and also some picnic tables under some trees if you want to eat outside.

I definitely recommended stopping in here if you want to experience some yummy cheese curds, all sorts of different cheeses and meats, and everything in between!

I grew up with my dad bringing us to Burnett Dairy for ice cream and string cheese whips back before they ever remodeled all hoity toity. And when he'd be up earlier on a weekend he'd bring us home a large twist ice cream in a cup usually every weekend or every 2 weekends. So probably been getting the same ice cream since I was 8 years old (I'm currently 30).

I obviously don't go as much but still do every once in a while to get ice cream as a treat. They have completely changed not only the price (which I understand it going up over such a long time) but my issue is the downsizing of a large twist in a cup! I know it used to be at least a 16oz cup, if not a 20oz. And it was always full; as I said earlier we have been going there most of my life. Now they not only have a much, much smaller size for their "large", but apparently it's whatever size cup the people working want to give you!

I went Friday Nov. 8 by myself and got large twist ice cream as pictured in the daylight picture. Went back Sunday Nov. 10 with my boyfriend and got "large" twist ice cream as pictured in the darker lighting picture. You can clearly tell the one from Sunday was a smaller size. I was already not happy by how much smaller their large is from years before, but this just ticked me off even more!

*Edit: But apparently I should've asked them to remake the ice cream according to the reply I got? But actually it should just be a set standard that everyone that works the ice cream part knows which size cup to use for what is ordered. Since the sizes "haven't changed" ever this shouldn't have been issue that came up to begin with. (And also you can't gaslight me by saying the size hasn't changed, my dad noticed it years ago too that it got smaller. He b*tched at them and has been given the regular old large size. I am not the type to take my frustration out on employees, that's why I review places so it is seen by management who can make positive changes.)

They also apparently are too good to make their own cheese whips now and only carry a random other dairy's whips that are much thicker than Burnett Dairy's ever were and not as good. Very disappointing.

*Edit: Still disappointed to hear they discontinued the whips permanently. If I remember right they had won awards for them. They used to be sold at Wayne's and Marketplace in SCF, so you'd think they were still making money off them.

Also stay away from their pizza line if you thought those look good; we bought 2 frozen ones to try and even my teenage step son who will eat anything thought they were garbage! They add sage, thyme, and marjoram spices to it and it gives the pizzas a perfume smell and taste.

*Edit: The reply from them says they don't use these spices, but it's in the list of ingredients towards the end if you read the label in the included picture I added. I read it when we tried the pizza because we couldn't figure out the weird tastes. Glad I took a picture for proof now.

Just overall sad and angry how much they have changed as a company. You all might be able to trick tourists from MN into thinking that you aren't ripping them off, but as a local I know the truth! It will be a LONG time before I ever go back, if ever now... I'll drive 1.5 hours to Ellsworth if I want ice cream that's much creamier and decent portioned.

*Edit: One small good thing is they still have the caramels at the registers for $0.50; those haven't changed or been gotten rid of yet.

We always try to time our trip home for when the Burnett Dairy Co-op is open. We stock up on our favorite cheeses, a bottle of wine or two, and an ice cream cone - old-fashion or soft-serve. Weekends in the summer get a little busy, but it is worth the wait.

Their deep fried cheese curds are excellent! All of their hot food is excellent. You can't leave here without getting fried and fresh curds, and make sure to grab a salted carmel malt on the way out!

The best cheese. All of it is great. But I won't eat anything other string cheese.

Their cheese makes great gifts. This year I ordered online and had it shipped. The order I had sent to a friend out of state went very smoothly, and she's loving the cheese.

There was a snafu with what I had shipped to myself for my use and for gifts, but they immediately made it right.

Great cheese, great company.

Oh my goodness!!! I was like a kid in a candy shop. We are traveling around the USA in our RV. I was in the laundromat and asked the owner where to get some “real Wisconsin Cheese”. She told us about Burnett’s which was over a half hour away. It was well worth the drive. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. They have so many different cheeses, some I had never heard of. They have a wide selection of local wines (and moonshine), as well as other foods and gift items. We had lunch here and it was SO good. I got the Wisconsin, description in pictures. I wish I lived closer but this is well worth the trip.

We come here every time we come to visit family in Minnesota. Only problem is we don't have a Burnett dairy in Texas 😁. Thank the Lord of large ice chests.
