LOVE my haircut!! Honestly my hair was a mess before. Jenn took the time to learn about my hair, what I wanted, and gave me my best cut and color yet. 5star service !! Took my 11yr old to get a cut and some layers. My daughter felt like a princess and was pampered the whole time the owner did her hair. She gave my daughter the exact cut she had been wanting. We will definitely be going back! 10/10

I had Jen pierce my 6yr olds ears and she did a great job! She was super careful to line them up just right and make sure the marks were even before piercing. While there I noticed the curly hair products, so a couple weeks later we booked for a curly hair cut for my same 6yr old. Since I have straight hair, I'm still learning how to care for my daughters beautiful curls. Jen was soo sweet and patient with all my questions and really taught me a lot about how to care for her hair and to tame frizz. She took the time to teach us a step by step routine for washing and applying products. Other stylists we've gone to previously would hardly answer questions let alone teach a whole routine. Her suggestions have been working great for my daughter and her hair cut also came out super cute! 5/5 highly recommend!

The cut was not out of my budget or I wouldn't have agreed to the price. I have since gone to other salons for curly cuts to compare the experience and see if it was exceptionally good to justify the price and, in my opinion, it was not.

For $200+ I needed to have the best haircut of my life to go back, and it wasn't. I now feel it was average for what a curly cut should be.

The three star rating is not only because of the price.

I was asked when in salon and more than once by text for "a positive review" like the one I did leave on Fresha immediately after the cut. I felt pressured to leave five stars like everyone else did, even though I did not feel that was justified by the cut, price, or experience. I felt that anything less than 5 stars would not be "allowed". I wanted even at the time to leave a 3.5-4 star review and I regret that I gave in to that feeling of pressure. I knew it would upset the owner, and I can see that I was correct.

I also did not like the $75 non-refundable deposit when I booked the appointment.

The point of the review system is so that people can get a feel for the business before going. It isn't a personal attack, simply my opinion. Many people won't be bothered by the price and many others will feel the services are worth it.

This was my first Deva cut and also my first ever curly cut of any kind. I have since had others at another salon.

I did not negotiate on price because I respect artists (good hairstylists are artists in my opinion) and I don't negotiate for a lower price on their hard work and expertise. I don't seek out "cheap" haircuts. I am used to paying around $100 per haircut at good salons.

This cut cost over $200 and the prices have gone up since then (mid-2023). I have waves and curls above my shoulders. The price would be higher for someone with longer or more difficult hair. Mid-2024, for a dry cut "touch-up only for layers and face framing, no length changes", I was quoted a price of $105. The cut in 2023 was a good haircut. But, in my opinion, it was just not worth the price.

I have really hesitated to leave this review because I genuinely liked Jenn and the salon was lovely.

I have since found a different Deva salon and am very happy with the stylist, cut, and pricing.

Jenn is clearly very experienced and I fully trust her guidance with hair color. She's also well versed on curly hair and is great at teaching you how to embrace your curls.
She always friendly and professional.

I live in the bay area and have been unsatisfied with my usual deva curl specialist for years. Was in town visiting family and scheduled with Jenn and have never been so happy with my hair!!!! It is curlier and healthier than it has been in a long time and jenn has taught me so much in terms of how to care for it and get the best frizz free curls!! She is also a pleasure to spend time with and I look forward to my services with her. I've gone back to her twice now and will continue to come back! If you aren't seeing Jenn at Ciao Bella you are missing out!
