Had a really nice experience at Custom Fireside today. We bought a Kozy Heat gas insert for our house from them about 10 years ago and are happy with it. Today we visited in search of information about fireplaces for a home we are planning to build next year. That will be in another state, so There’s no chance of this shop actually selling us that fireplace, but they were still extremely willing to educate us about choosing an insert for our to-be-built living room and bedroom, what to look for in BTUs and efficiency ratings. They could have blown us off, but the store wasn’t busy when we arrived and they appeared happy to help. Good people!

A little over a year ago I purchased and had installed a gas log insert for my existing traditional fireplace. A recent interaction with their support service reminded me that I had not reviewed them yet. Every aspect of the process was excellent. From visiting the showroom, reviewing the products and my options, pricing, and install was all as best as I could have hoped. I had an unusual shaped firebox, so they recommended a blocking plate that resulted in a very natural look. Recently I changed the batteries in the remote and found the thermostat control was not working. A same day callback from their support staff walked me through how to reset it and it is operating beautifully again. I highly recommend Custom Fireside for your fireplace needs.

Had an initial bad experience where I felt I was completely dismissed (possible by appearance still not sure) by the sales reps when trying to look into a fireplace insert which would apparently require a full rebuild to which no wanted to give me any details on as to cost and was again just completely dismissed. Submitted a complaint through BBB and was contacted by the owner or president cant really remember but he was very sympathetic to the situation and understood my frustration. He apologized and provided me with some additional details I will need to discuss with my contractor prior to moving forward but really appreciated the call and response and look forward to giving these guys another chance here soon

Today an Associate named Awny arrived on time to do our yearly maintenance check and cleaning. Awny was very professional, and did a excellent job. He also answered any questions I had. He put down a large blanket-type cover to protect our flooring, and was very tidy. I would love to have him each time I arrange my yearly maintenance.

This store feels like it is run by obstinate, obtuse people who are right about everything and wrong about nothing. They act like they are the only game in town, and that they are doing you a favor by even talking to you. I think you know the type. 'Good luck finding help elsewhere' is their attitude. The customer service is pretty bad. Pretty unhelpful, unfriendly. They act like they don't need, or even want your business. I would advise you to do business elsewhere.

We've wanted a gas fireplace insert for a long time. In fact, we had the gas line added four or five years ago and never made the step forward to get a gas insert. (It just seemed overly expensive and kind of confusing.) However, today was the day. I decided that we were going to finally move forward and honestly, I was going to shop local merchants and then probably buy an Amazon. (I know... I hate that too but sometimes the price difference so much you just can’t ignore it). However, not only did I get the right education but these guys actually beat the online pricing and we came home with a really nice kit. I installed it myself in about an hour and I’m not that mechanical. We are very happy and totally satisfied with the price and the product. It looks great and throws off WAY more heat than I expected. Thanks Glenn and team. Super excited to have no more wood smoke, firewood OR cleanup!
