It's an ok store to shop at if you want something in a hurry but I would not buy my family groceries here as prices are not in line with other store. They want almost $10 for a dozen eggs when other grocery retailers are $5-$6 per dozen.

I went to Drexel Food Town because it is late and it is the only grocery store open on this side of town after 8:00 PM. The store was reasonably clean and the prices were a little higher than you would see at the bigger stores. But what impressed me the most what's the music playing. I AM 60 years old and used to R&B and a little rap. I was not familiar with the rap artist that was playing over the speakers. The music was unprofessionally loud in the language was terrible I heard the MF word no less than three times. When I got up to the checkout, lane 4, I asked the patron in front of me where do they do that at. The cashier rudely said “here”. Then the cashier said, “when you go out to your car you can listen to music that you like to listen to.” Then I said, “wow and great customer service also.”
I realized that this is the only grocery store that's open on the West side after 8:00 PM. I also realize that is the end of the day and someone may have had a bad day. But don't the residents of the West side deserve a little more respect and a little better customer service?

For a small town grocery store very nice it's an older building but kept super clean customer service was excellent selection was great somewhat limited but again it's a small grocery I absolutely loved it prices weren't crazy they're actually was some pretty good deals as well I would drive here for something quick and easy before I drive all the way to Walmart that's for damn sure! I'm going to give it five stars as well it was a very pleasant experience!! 5*****

Prices are mostly much better that bigger chain grocery store, though oddly a few things are insanely more expensive. They've got all the right necessities for a small store, and my trips are always simple and short because they are very well organized. I wish the produce selection were a little bigger, and some of the fruits in particular are too over-ripe, but it is what you would expect for the size of the place. Their check cashing service is fantastic, surprisingly open policy and very inexpensive. I'm the type of person that makes huge grocery trips once a month at a store with tons of selection for the necessities, and then little trips once a week or so for perishables. Foodtown is excellent for the once a week trips.

I go to this store because it was the only store on my side of town. Now that bigger stores are here, I will not forget who was there first.
