Econo Lodge On the Bay - Menominee, Michigan

I recently spent a weekend at the Econo Lodge on the Bay in Menominee, MI, and couldn’t have been more pleased. From the moment I arrived, the staff greeted me with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. My room was spotless and well-appointed, with comfortable bedding, a crisp flat‑screen TV, and a lovely view of the bay that made waking up each morning a true pleasure.

The free continental breakfast offered a nice variety— Muffins serials ,yogurt, hot coffee—and was a great way to fuel up before exploring the shoreline trail right outside the hotel. I appreciated the complimentary Wi‑Fi (which stayed fast even during peak times), the convenient on‑site parking, and how quiet the property was despite being so close to downtown shops and restaurants.

What really set this stay apart was the team’s attentiveness: they provided local recommendations (don’t miss the Menominee Marina walk at sunset) and made sure I had everything I needed, from extra towels to directions. All told, the Econo Lodge on the Bay delivers exceptional value, friendly service, and a peaceful waterfront setting—I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Menominee!

I was surprised that the shower did not have a grab bar you have to be really careful you don't slip with nothing to hang on to. I hada toe amputated last December and I have some stability and balance issues since then. Other than that the room wad very clean and he bed was comfortable.

The hotel is pretty average for an Econolodge. But this Hotel sits right on Lake Michigan and has a nice little beach area to walk on. We had 3 bigger dogs with us. Our beds were comfortable, and the water pressure for the shower was great! |Breakfast was a typical continental breakfast. Cereal, yogurt, fruit, toast and pastries.

Positive: It's location was good for my needs. It was clean and in good repair. Negative: This is a basic hotel, definitely not a 2.5 star hotel as advertised. Rooms were smaller than most 2.5 room hotels. The Breakfast was mostly heat and eat frozen items, but were good. The plus is the hotel was very clean and in good repair.

The Econo Lodge is in an excellent location and a short distance to many dining and dispensary locations. The rooms were quite adequate and clean, and the price point was optimal. Good for a weekend trip.

We enjoyed our stay! The bed was comfortable with lots of pillows. Room was clean. My husband loved the massage option on the showerhead. We walked right down to the lake. They have pinic table out back so you can sit and enjoy the bay. We will definitely be back!

You get what you pay for I suppose.. this was one of the cheaper hotel options which is why we picked it. Room and bathroom was clean, some stains on bedding linens but nothing terrible. Didn’t get the best sleep..bed is quite hard in comparison to other hotel beds I’ve had. Could hear hotel phone ringing from our room upstairs, could hear doors slamming all night from other guests coming and going, ac was ac was a little wonky, one side of the bed had a permanent indentation that caused me to roll into it while sleeping. So I had to sleep in the middle of the bed. However, check in / checkout was easy, nice location. And our encounters with the workers were fine!

The morning sunrise view out our window was breath taking. Room was nicely decorated, however we found a lamp cord was lying atop the hot baseboard heater. This could be fixed before it starts a fire. We also worried that a child could grab the wire nuts and electrical tape indicating a ptevious fire hazard.
