Wish this place existed everywhere. Food co-op with decently priced groceries, but where this place shines is the prepared foods. Freshly made burritos, soups, salads, sandwiches, both hot and cold, well priced, available with a fair bit of selection. We got the Ethiopian tofu and the breakfast burritos, which were fantastic snacks on our drive home south. Lots of vegan, vegetarian, and non-veg items.

This is an awesome little market in downtown Petoskey. They carry a lot of allergen friendly items and health conscious items in general. Their grab and go bar is delicious as well! A great stop to get more specialty groceries.

One of my favorite grocery store! My family has been shopping there for years and it is always the best experience! Fresh products, excellent choices. Tasty, natural and healthy food! Some products they sell are especially valuable and can't be found in other nearby markets.

such an awesome find! 🤩 i came down here from the Soo after a recommendation from a coworker. we have a very small natural foods market here that doesn't really encompass a whole lot.
Grain Train blew me away with their ready-to-go food selection (a big bowl of grass-fed beef chili for about 6 bucks) & tasty side salads. they have wonderful options for lunch or dinner that are cheaper than a lot of restaurants nowadays.
today, a lot of the produce was on sale, so all the fresh veggies & fruit were a bargain.
Grain Train has a selection of quality mainstream brands (usually not organic, but still good) alongside the organic options, & in some cases the organic options were cheaper.

I really should rate a 4 for the parking lot. I drive a truck and it was very hard to maneuver in those tiny spots with meters! Some guy even gave me trouble pulling out of the driveway while he pulled in with a trailer. It was too small for that. The store itself was an average co-op. Staff could have been a bit more friendly. The store had moderately high prices compared to recent previous co-op visits at other stores. Vegan and gluten free and had a semi-tough time finding good snacks. Still thankful they were there.

Hello! From Bloomington Indiana. My daughter and I have traveled to Petoskey twice in the past 4 years. We love this co op! The employees are awesome! We love the prepared foods. We visited there multiple times on our trips to Michigan. My only complaint, and I realize it just the area/society, are the older ladies with dogs. Are these service dogs?

You’ll be so Very Surprised, at what they have. Some of the things you’ll never guess that you could get, at this wonderful place. Nice Wide isles if you happen, to be like I’am having to use a wheelchair, to get around. And if you happen Not be Able,to reach something because your in a power-wheelchair, there is usually a friendly face, that works here, or someone else shopping here, for so many Great Deals like I’am.

Every time I come to Petoskey I have to make a stop at the Grain Train Natural Foods Market. It was awesome before Covid when the hot bar was plentiful, the prices were decent and the magnificent in house vegan turtle bars were often available. Regardless, the Grain Train is still amazing. They have a super fantastic staff and lots of unique products. The premade food is tasty and convenient and I enjoy the half priced items when available. Grain Train is a treasure to Petoskey.
