Holy cow, man! (Or holy goat?) Our visit to this cafe on a recent trip to the parks was easily the best meal on the entire trip (and possibly a lifetime top-ten!). First, the entire staff must be the “happy” in Happy Goat—they were so friendly and it was our pleasure to dine with them (it felt that great). Kalon, our server, was the best! And the chef that prepared my entree was a culinary genius—that omelette was pure perfection (I’m sorry, I forgot her name, but she knows who she is!). Aside from the great food and service, the dining area was the coolest! I appreciated some healthier options being available on the menu. In the end, this was a perfect dining experience. Thank you guys! (PS—If you’re looking for a Denny’s, this is not it!)

My experience at Happy Goat was nothing short of disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. From the moment we walked in, we weren’t greeted with a simple “hello” or any sign of courtesy. Instead, the staff immediately assumed my dog was not a service animal and rudely declared, “We don’t allow pets here,” without asking the proper questions or trying to understand the situation.

When we clarified that the dog was indeed a service animal, the dismissive attitude continued, making it clear we were not welcome. This rude and unprofessional behavior made us decide to leave without trying their food, opting for coffee to go instead. The overall environment was cold, uninviting, and completely unprofessional—not just from the staff, but the atmosphere in general.

It’s important to point out that denying or questioning service animal access without legal cause is a violation of federal law under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA):
• Service animals must be allowed in all public areas of a business.
• Businesses are allowed to ask only two questions:
1. Is the dog required because of a disability?
2. What task has the dog been trained to perform?
They cannot deny access or assume otherwise without these clarifications.

This wasn’t just poor service—it was a violation of civil rights. Unfortunately, after seeing other reviews about this establishment, it seems that rude and discriminatory behavior isn’t uncommon here. Many others have mentioned experiences of feeling unwelcome or targeted for reasons unrelated to their actions. It’s unacceptable for a business to operate this way.

Additionally, the prices seemed disproportionately high for what they’re offering, but that’s irrelevant when the service is this poor. I would strongly caution anyone against visiting Happy Goat, as no one deserves to be treated with such disrespect. The management needs to take these complaints seriously, train their staff properly, and create a space that’s actually welcoming, inclusive, and compliant with the law.

We enjoyed breakfast at Happy Goat and everything was delicious & fresh. Started with a cappuccino and then enjoyed their breakfast burrito and my kids had French Toast and Waffles. Would love to come back to try their lunch menu!

Diner feel but definitely elevated food. Friendly and accommodating staff.

Stopped in for a bite while we waited for the 4 o'clock entrance to Yosemite. You have to get reservations to enter before that. So, I found the Happy Goat, and we were pleasantly pleased. The food was fresh, hot, and readily available. My wife had the fruit and yogurt dish, and I got the fried hot chicken sandwich with togarashi sauce. Wow, sweet, spicy, and delicious. If you don't like spicy, stay away. If like me, you enjoy some spice pain, then dig in. Gluten-free bread is available here also.

My husband and I popped into the Happy Goat for breakfast earlier this week and absolutely loved it! Such a friendly and warm welcome and really delicious food- we especially loved the homemade jams and honey butter. Our waitress (sorry I didn’t get her name) also went completely above and beyond for us. When we arrived they explained they didn’t have any biscuits ready yet (we were quite early, about 7.20am). We were a little disappointed because, being British, we had never tried biscuits and gravy and had been hoping to- which we mentioned to our server. About half an hour later as we were finishing our breakfast, our lovely waitress arrived at our table with a biscuit and a little bowl of gravy as a gift! We were so touched and can confirm the biscuit and gravy was DELICIOUS. Now we understand the hype. Thank you so much to our waitress for doing that for us, it really made our day!

If you’re in a hurry, don’t come here!
We waited nearly an hour for our food, and when it finally arrived, three out of the four dishes were either wrong or missing key ingredients. ,The waiter can't do anything about it, The efficiency and service of this restaurant are shockingly poor

If a restaurant cannot ensure basic efficiency or service quality, the least they can do is address customer concerns properly instead of shifting blame. I would strongly recommend avoiding this place, especially if you’re short on time or care about good service.
