Some reviewers highlight the excellent customer service, particularly from Joe from the deli department, who went above and beyond to meet their needs. Others appreciate the variety of products, including organic options and prepared foods.

One reviewer noted that the store is the only one in the area that sells their favorite lunch meat, Hormel Homeland Hard Salami. Another praised the beautiful varieties of subs Joe created for them in a hurry.

Great location. Friendly staff. Well stocked every time I've been there. The ONLY store I know in the area that sells my favorite lunch meat (Hormel Homeland Hard Salami). Usually has decent sales items each week also.

I have shopped here regularly for many years. In the past year I have regularly been buying their Boston lettuce. It has a price of $2.49 noted on the shelf. I realized after buying the lettuce a number of times that I was being charged $2.69 at the register. I brought it to the attention of the cashier a number of times and after a lengthy wait for them to verify I wasn’t trying to cheat them they would adjust the price. I also bought it to the attention of the office clerk and asked them to either correct it in their system or change the sign on the shelf. After going through the same process several more times with no change to the price in their system or on the shelf I decided that I would force the issue by paying the wrong price and then taking the receipt to their office and getting a refund for the full purchase price. To my surprise, unlike other stores in the area that give a refund if they mis-mark or overcharge the customer ( giant Eagle,shop-n-save) apparently Kuhns policy for ripping their customers off is to just give them back the difference ( if you catch them). How many times did I pay the wrong price? Many times. How many other people have been ripped off buying that lettuce? When I was told their policy was to just give back the difference I told them to keep the lettuce and give me my money back. I won’t go back to this store. Fool me once….. If you decide to shop there check the prices on the shelves against your receipt. Who knows what other ways they are ripping off their customers and don’t buy the Boston lettuce.

For vegetarians and NA beer, wine, and spirits drinkers in the Dormont area:

I like using meat substitute products when I'm cooking. Kuhn's had a pretty good selection in the freezer section- Morning Star, Quorn, Amy's. They also have quite a bit in the produce section, items I'd never seen before as well as old favorites- Tofurky and tofu.

Kombucha- they have a very good selection of Brew Dr. plus some others. I like Bree Dr. Because it isn't artificially sweetened and a while bottle is only 60 c.

NA beer, wine, gin- yep, they've got those, too! And at a reasonable price. The buyer knows his stuff- is what he drinks. I tried one of his recommendations from Athletic, Mexican-style copper. It's pretty good! They have Giesen wines, others as well. I haven't tried their selection of NA spirits but I don't tend to drink mocktails at home. The selection isn't as good as The Open Road (which is all about NA products), but they cover the basics and the prices are good.

Cashiers really need to learn not to stuff the bags so full that it’s to the point they are breaking and spilling groceries everywhere. Visited today and had no choice but to go to full service registers because self checkout was closed. My one singular bag was loaded up so heavy that the handles gave out, everything fell onto the concrete, my gallon of milk broke, and milk was spilled over all my groceries damaging a majority of them. About 10 things were shoved into one flimsy bag including a whole gallon of milk, which was also thrown on top of many lighter more fragile things like potato chips. Bagging is one of the simplest concepts and there’s no excuse for this.

Kuhn's is a perfect sized grocery. It's large enough to have a bakery, a butcher counter, a deli, and a wine and beer section. But it's not a cavernous store, so you can get in and out fairly quickly if you're just shopping for a few items.
