Very cute location.
Starting from the top. Make reservations before hand, to ensure you have enough time and that there is available seats. They review the process with you and help you choose what colors you’d like to mix with and match. You have options of choosing one of their packages, I went with a group and got a gloss with lip liner. Prices range from $65 and up. Very helpful and energetic staff, they make the experience much more fun. This is a perfect girls date, holiday event with staff, bridal shower gathering, or mommy and me date. Highly recommend!!

I’m writing this review because there aren’t enough positive things to say about Alli and my experience at Lip Lab! I had a couple shades that were discontinued and needed help recreating. Alli was tenacious in making sure I got a near exact match for both shades. She’s a color theory whiz, Lip Lab needs to give her a raise! Oh and she was also kind, patient, and very friendly. She made the experience superb! I really do think your experience at Lip Lab depends on what technician you get assigned. There was another staff member there who was nice… but it seemed like she kept trying to get me to settle for a shade that was close enough. There were a few times she said something to the effect of “People won’t be able to tell the difference.” Whereas Alli just kept going until I was content. I’m not going to settle when I’m dropping $65 on a lipstick! My recommendation is if you’re interested in trying out Lip Lab, ask for Alli!

Alli was absolutely wonderful. Everyone raved about her in the comments and I’m super glad to have had her lead my experience as well. She was cheerful and kept making sure that I had the color that I want - even when I was starting to feel bad about having to correct it over and over. Highly recommend.

I was so excited for this experience! I saw Lip Lab on the Today Show, I read the hype, watched social media, and it was a big disappointment. I traveled out of state to do this and went to that mall just because Lip Lab was there. I felt like I was annoying the person who helped me, and I was the only person there. I didn’t feel like I could ask for more colors because they were bothered by me. When I settled on a color, they told me I could go do something else while they mixed, poured and engraved, I was looking forward to watching that but felt like I had to go. I left a good tip and review when the store email but only because I felt obligated. All in all, I was very sad with my experience and have hardly used my color.

I recently attended a friend’s birthday party at Lip Lab in Century City, and let me tell you—it was an experience! From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming, making us feel like VIPs. Shoutout to Alli, (she’s the reason I’m writing this review) the amazing technician who worked her magic on me! Her energy and presence were absolutely infectious, making the whole process super fun. She nailed my perfect sheer lipstick shade—I’m still in awe.

FYI, it’s a bit on the pricey side. We had to put down a deposit of $20 per person for our party of 6, and there’s a minimum spend of $65.

My bf and I had an amazing time at LipLab with Crissy this past Sunday. She was so knowledgeable about shade matching and undertones. Both of our lip products came out perfect and Crissy was so wonderful to work with! I have been wearing my lip gloss and liner since then…I can’t wait to wear my lipstick out for date night 🩷

The Bad: Our party of 5 arrived 15 minutes early. A young lady by the name of Solane (spelling? pronounced like So-lonnie) was working with a group of women. Rather than welcome us in and invite us to take a seat while waiting for our person/colorist to greet us, she asked us to leave and come back in 10 minutes. This was incredibly rude and unwelcoming! There was no reason we could not have occupied the empty seats at the bar -- the ones we ultimately sat in when our person/colorist did come out to greet us -- or at the very least sit at the seating area behind the bar, which was also vacant. Solane needs to get a personality and some training or re-training in basic courtesy and customer service skills! Her approach is unacceptable!

The Good: Our person/colorist, Becca, was amazing! Friendly, enthusiastic, professional, helpful, patient, knowledgeable, silly, funny. She really made this a fun and enjoyable experience. Her energy matched ours and we vibed so well. We're so glad she was the one to assist us rather than that other chick. We were celebrating our niece/cousin's 30th birthday. She loved it and so did we all. A nice girly thing to do.

I purchased two matte red lipsticks. They look and feel fantastic! So vibrant, soft and velvety. Becca knows her stuff and really captured the colors I wanted. You're the best, Becca! Thank you!

I booked a time slot for my 13yrs daughter to go with her best friend and celebrate her birthday. They have been talking about Lip Lab for a while now, but when we got there some of the staff seemed annoyed with our presence. The place was very busy and I had to make myself noticed.
I checked the girls for their experience and left to walk around the mall. 45min later I came to get the girls and they told me that the staff member that assisted them was impatient and did not have a good attitude while they were choosing their colors.

I told my daughter they could do anything they wanted, but they were done after a lip gloss. I think the girls would have done more if staff was fun and pleasant.
