The Light Stim bed is soooooo helpful in alleviating tendinitis and osteoarthritis in my wrists, knees, ankles, hips, and shoulders. All the staff are very warm and nurturing. It feels like a quick trip to Hawaii when I visit. Very healing!

I am an 80+ year old female with osteoarthritis who came to Marin Medical Aesthetics with severe pain in my hands and an inability to make a fist with both hands. One of my hands is more severely affected than the other. After just the first treatment with the LightStim, I was able to close my left hand completely and my right hand showed much improvement. After the second treatment, the pain in both my hands subsided and was almost able to make a fist with my right hand. I consider this a miracle!

I've hesitated for the greater part of a year to write this review, but given that I'm still facing the aftermath of treatments that had adverse effects, I feel like it's time.

In July or August of 2023, I had a laser (BBL) treatment done to target sun spots/hyperpigmentation on my face and arms —  a treatment I've had done many times with no adverse effects at my prior dermatologist in Virginia. I had the treatment done ahead of a special birthday event in which there was going to be a professional photographer doing both photos at the event and portraits of me afterward.

Unfortunately, that treatment did not go well. The treatment on my face did not remove any of the targeted hyperpigmentation (which was a first) and the treatment to my arms left permanent loss of pigmentation, resulting in bold white spots all over my arms. (When visiting my dermatologist back home several months later, she said that it looked as though I was burnt by the laser and that the loss of pigmentation was likely permanent.) These white spots were so noticeable that my friends were shocked ("what happened to your arm?!?!") and I asked the photographer to edit them out of the photos.

Dr. Bacchi was proactive and empathetic, which is why I gave the practice 2 stars instead of 1. She proactively arranged several (free) office visits, follow-up treatments, and products to try to treat the discoloration. While the white spots have become less visible with sun exposure, I still have mild but seemingly permanent discoloration.

Because of Dr. Bacchi's responsiveness and attentiveness, I continued getting other standard services there, but was adamant about not feeling comfortable with additional laser treatments that caused the discoloration. Facials and Botox treatments were always positive experiences without issue!

Eventually, I decided to schedule a microneedling treatment, which I've also had at my former dermatologist. Unfortunately, this service also went poorly, leaving me with new scarring above my lip. Once the rest of my face healed from the treatment, there was what looked like a red bullseye above my lip. I called the office expressing concern, and they scheduled another complimentary consultation. This, once again, yielded free products to target the discoloration. After a couple of months, the redness mostly receded, but the scar is still very prominent. Once the bullseye effect faded, additional ripple scars became evident that almost look like smoker lines — but only on one side of my face. (And I've never ever been a smoker.)

I've continued to use top-of-the-line skincare products to try and reduce this scarring, but several months later, it's very prominent when I look in the mirror and see myself in photos. Interestingly, unlike the first treatment gone awry, I never received any follow-up contact to see how the scarring was going.

I hate to have to write this review, but given the cost of aesthetic dermatology and the emotional impact of visible scarring/discoloration in such a visible place, I feel that I need to. I've since switched dermatologists and we're working on a treatment plan to try and correct the new scarring above my lip.

Meeting Dr. Bacchi and her exemplary staff convinced me I was in good hands to proceed with a non-invasive program. The treatments so far have been delivered by professionals - namely Suzanne with her expertise in Emface and Exion, and Michelle for soothing facials.
Dr. Bacchi embodies the true expert in her field of medicine as she instills confidence in the revolutionary programs she develops and recommends. And the new products I am using feel like silk on my skin!
Ilook forward to continuing this journey knowing everyone at MMA - including receptionists Mary Louise and Trish - have my best interests at heart. Thank you for making me feel so welcomed and hopeful.

I have to admit I was a bit apprehensive at first because other med spas were intimidating but as soon as I walked in I was warmly welcomed. Dr. Bacchi, Marylouise, Suzanne and all of the other lovely ladies have made it so easy and comfortable. After listening to my concerns and hopes they were able to arrange a package custom to me. Now after several treatments I’m happy with the results and plan on continuing, not only in the current treatment but others as well. I’m so glad I took the leap and joined this team.
