I am 82 years old. I was a lifeguard in my college days. I was a mountain climber and skier into my 70's. I spent 60 days a year above 10,000 feet. Solar radiation was not my friend! The Santa Barbara Skin Institute (Solvang Office) is the second dermatology group that I have used since moving to the central coast three and 1/2 years ago. When you are older than 65 years, you typically see physician assistants instead of doctors. Dr. Ortiz is the first dermatology doctor to check me out since I moved to Santa Maria. She is the most thorough and careful dermatologist that I have had. She explains my skin conditions and listens to my questions. She exudes confidence and makes me confident that nothing is missed!

It can be a pleasure going to the dermatologist office. Dr. Sengelmann, the PA's, and everyone in the office are top notch. They are very professional, knowledgeable, pleasant and helpful. The office is immaculate!! So glad Dr. S has an office in the SYV!!!
