My husband and I had a wonderful date creating a perfume and cologne for each other! A great winter activity and so fun to create and sample different recipes. I love that everything is custom and you have full control of the outcome. So many options and we loved our scents!

I had such a good time! The owners husband was great at walking us through the whole process. Gave us great background information on perfume crafting. Had a chance to smell all of the scents and was able to make a great smell that suited what I was looking for! Loved this and will absolutely be back the next time I'm in Galena.

We were really looking forward to our visit to Scent Workshop after reading so many great reviews and booking in advance. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of expectations.

When we arrived for our 3–5 PM appointment, there was no direction whatsoever. We waited for 30 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us, and when they finally did, they gave us minimal guidance and then disappeared again. It got to the point where other customers had to step in to help our group understand what to do.

Once we finally received some instruction, we were told to come back in an hour to pick up our candles. However, this wasn’t communicated clearly beforehand, and it made no sense given that our appointment was scheduled for two hours. If we had been properly guided from the start, we could have completed the candle-making portion in about 30 minutes instead of dragging it out for an hour and a half—only to then have to leave and wait another hour and a half for the candles to set.

To make matters worse, when we returned to pick up our candles, we were not informed that they were still partially unset. ALL six of our candles spilled inside the paper bags they were placed in, completely ruining them. We essentially spent $30 per person, wasted two hours of our time (plus the additional waiting), and walked away with nothing to show for it.

Overall, this was a frustrating and disappointing experience. Better organization, clearer communication, and a more structured process would have made all the difference. Unfortunately, as it stands, I wouldn’t recommend this experience to others.

I have no experience making perfume, but the kits are incredibly user-friendly, and the scents are high-quality and beautifully curated. Blending different notes to create something uniquely mine has become a relaxing, creative escape—exactly what I needed to decompress after a long day.

If you're looking for an easy, rewarding hobby, I highly recommend Scent Workshop!

Jan was our mixologist today. She was great and very helpful! I had so much fun! I did the combo and mad a candle and roller ball perfume. Love love love! Would highly recommend to anyone coming to Galena!

I came in with Alyssa’s group and she explained very well the experience we had. The girls were nice, but the experience lacked direction and support. It felt much more self directed in an area we had no expertise in. It seems like maybe we had a unique experience as opposed to many other positive reviews, but overall a disappointing part of our special weekend.
