I had an amazing experience at this facial spa! Nicole Horne was my aesthetician, and she was absolutely fantastic. This was my first time here, and I’m so glad I found this place. Nicole was professional, knowledgeable, and made me feel completely comfortable throughout the entire process. My skin feels incredible!

I’m already booked for my next facial in 6 weeks, and I’m looking forward to it. The service was definitely worth it, and I couldn’t be happier. Highly recommend skinscience and Nicole!

The Martinez office is super nice and clean. The staff is very generous.. They offered to extend my parking toll and the receptionist literally walked to my car to do so. ☺️ Nicole is a very good listener and would work with you to get your desired results with a lot of tolerance. I'm super happy with the results.

Perfect service from start to finish. From the warm attention at the front desk, they even covered my mistake when I got confused about my appointment by rescheduling it for the same day. The place is welcoming, and Nicole is both warm and professional. She explained each step of the treatment and gave me future skincare recommendations. I will be back!

This is my second visit at Skin Science MedSpa. I previously went to the Pleasant Hill location and everyone was super friendly but my esthetician Nicole was only available at Martinez this time and I must say that this location is my favorite! It’s super cutesy and cozy! I was a little nervous for my treatment but Nicole did a wonderful job making me feel comfortable and relaxed. She is very professional and caring and has made me feel beautiful each time. She is truly a gem! I can’t wait to book the rest of my treatments with her.

Nicole was extremely knowledgeable and professional . She really knows her stuff!! The environment has a beautiful and calm vibe. I was ushered to a cozy room with a fireplace, hot tea and aromatic candles by the assistant as I waited for my appointment. She also placed a warm neck pillow while I waited due to the wet and rain outside. Good vibes!!! Absolutely WARM and COZY!!!!!!

Today, I had an appointment at the Skin Science location in Martinez, and I couldn't have been more excited! I was eager to see my esthetician, Nicole, who I adore, and to experience the stunning new space for myself. As I approached the location, I was absolutely blown away by its beauty. I immediately pulled out my phone to vlog, capturing the moment.
From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff greeted me with warmth and kindness. The receptionist opened the door for me, offered me water, and began checking me in for my appointment.
During the check in process I was informed that I had a $75 balance on my account due to a "no show" for a prior appointment. I explained that I had informed the office of my positive COVID test and wasn't aware of this charge as I believe it may have been a mix up.
Nevertheless I assured her I would handle it during check out. She was understanding and continued to offer me water while showing me around the beautiful new location.
Soon after, I met with Nicole, who is genuinely one of the sweetest and most down-to-earth people you could meet. She began assessing my skin and customizing my facial treatment (as she always does) . Where in treatment the lights are dimmed my eyes are closed ... then suddenly there's a knock at the door I heard a woman discussing a payment decline. I initially thought it was unrelated. Confused, I opened my eyes to find out the woman was talking about me! Shocked, I learned that my card had declined. I was taken aback--why would I be charged without my knowledge? I've been a loyal customer for over a year and have always been charged only at checkout.. I explained that my debit card was locked and I was working to unlock it, but the uncomfortable interruption of my service was overwhelming.

Imagine lying there with a face full of soap, feeling exposed and uncomfortable, as I was pressured for payment! It felt wrong and insulting, especially when the woman insisted that, due to past experiences with other customers, she needed to charge me upfront. I couldn't help but feel racially profiled in that moment.

I expressed my discomfort, but she dismissed my concerns and insisted that I walk up to pay-still with soap on my face!
I considered paying just to prove a point that my race doesn't define my character, but then I realized I couldn't support a business that treats me like this. I told her I no longer wanted to proceed with the service because I refuse to give my money to a company that lacks basic human regard for its clients.
Nicole apologized profusely as she wiped the soap off my face, and I reassured her that it wasn't her fault.

As I left, I felt compelled to update my vlog about this distressing experience. I approached the provider one last time to express how unacceptable her behavior was, but she brushed me off and even threatened to call the police, insisting I should have paid the balance owed. I've never felt so hurt and disrespected in my life!
This provider clearly doesn't deserve to be in service.
While her employees are wonderful, they're unfortunately working for a heartless management team. l've spent over $1,000 with this company, only to be treated like a criminal over one miscommunication. Please think before spending your hard-earned money here especially if your bi racial or one of color. You deserve to be treated with respect, and this establishment simply cannot provide that!
