Sonesta San Jose Milpitas was a great retreat. It was actually for my brother because he had to do a mandatory evacuation during the wild fires in LA. It had a pool, hot tub and gym, lobby had well placed seats/tables to use your laptop and best of all…helped my brother regroup with all the stress that fire caused. Being pet-friendly was a huge help. Staff including Front Desk Manager were all very welcoming & understanding. A 2 thumbs up stay for sure! 👍🏼👍🏼
Side note: Asian Supermarket & lots of other stores were just across the street.

The gym equipment is decent. The pillows are comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower was great. That’s all the good this place has to offer. My room smelled musty and had water damage stains on the ceiling over the bed. The door handle required lifting up (so awkward) to even get my room door to open. There is NOTHING within walking distance, you can’t get food delivered to your room door, and the shuttle service was terrible. I spoke with the front desk the night before my flight and was assured I would have a seat on the airport shuttle at a particular time. Next morning I show up at that time, and the shuttle was gone and wouldn’t be back for at least 30 minutes. This hotel makes money with airlines and business conferences. It’s like the Spirit Airlines of hotels. If you only care about a cheap room, book it. If you want to be comfortable, definitely book elsewhere.

Good hotel. Clean rooms and beds are super super comfortable. I had such great rest here! The bathroom wall tiles could be upgraded for a fresher look but the rest of my room was fairly updated w modern touches. You can tell they’re trying. My desk was next to the air conditioner blowing and proved uncomfortable so I had to move to another part of the room to work or turn the ac off. Cleaning is by request.

When ever I do work in the area I stay here. They have a great staff. The manager Pedro Z was very helpful in setting up a tricky reservation. I appreciate great customer service.

Bait and switched by the breakfast “buffet”. Woke up at 6am and saw the big breakfast sign in the elevator. Walked in and saw everyone eating so I thought why not I’ll grab a coffee. After I sit down staff comes over and asks if I’d like to charge it to the room. $30 for a cup of coffee.

I told them I thought it was a free breakfast because there was host, but they refused to remove the charge. Spoke with the front desk and they said the manager wouldn’t remove the charge.

Horrible bait and switch.

This review is under my husbands stay. Clean and comfortable rooms. Everything was good except the breakfast buffet was an additional cost. It is not included in the hotel fees.

We did our wedding reception at this Sonesta location, and the service they provided was very good. The ballroom was spacious, buffet service was also professional (we chose to order our own catering for food). They also provided complimentary guest room discounts and one wedding suite within the price package which was very competitive. It was a very pleasant experience. We worked with Jenny Tran who was very responsive.

The service was above and beyond. It started off with submitting request and next availability so it sounds like I wouldn't get my request fulfilled. The service from the sales to front desk to reservation all worked on my request and even sent a text checking if they can do anything to make my stay more enjoyable and i text back said connecting room and bada Bing bada boom the text replied " let me make those arrangements for you" and I felt so beyond excited to stay at this great establishment since they put customer first.
