Everything was amazing! I stayed from a Tuesday through Thursday and I liked how the common areas weren't very busy. I would recommend doing the spa tour when you arrive, and you can leave your luggage at the desk and they will bring it up to your room when it's ready. There was a lot of helpful information given in that tour. But really, there is nothing bad that I could say and I had no problems besides a tiny housekeeping issue that was immediately taken care of. The spa amenities, the food, the services, the staff - were all outstanding! After reading some of the reviews and issues some had, I didn't see anything near those things listed. I highly recommend this place and I can't wait to schedule my next visit. I want to go back right now.

I was looking forward to a nice relaxing birthday weekend but unfortunately we did not really enjoy our experience at Sundara. At check in, we were told we could use the facilities before our room was available, but no one showed us around. No robes and slippers were provided either. We were both very confused about where to go, and what facilities were available to use. I wandered around the changing room in my full winter coat (clearly out of place since everyone else had robes on). The changing room attendant seemed to ignore me, until I asked if I could get a robe and slippers. I always try to treat everyone with respect and kindness, but for some reason, she was not very kind to me.

After that, I was still trying to make the most of it and enjoy myself but the facilities were filled with lots of people. The baths were lukewarm, and the outdoor heated pool was less than lukewarm.

We left after that, a bit frustrated. Later in the evening we checked in to our room. I will say the amenities are nice and the bed is very comfortable and it was enjoyable to sleep in. I used the shower on the hottest possible setting, and somehow that was also lukewarm.

Overall this place was just unfortunately not worth the cost to me, and I wanted to warn other people who may be hoping for a peaceful place with hot baths.

Update: We were never told about spa tours during our visit.

Sundara was a great overall experience. The rooms are spacious and clean. The entire resort is well kept and exudes relaxation. The spa ritual was a 10/10. I docked a star because it's very pricey. Lunch for 2 was $75, breakfast w/ one alcoholic beverage was $95. Also the services are 50 minutes and they really get you in and out. I had a pedi, massage and facial and all were very rushed.

Overall I enjoyed and will be back with my spouse because of all the coed amenities but solo trips I prefer the Grand Geneva, where you can get a massage and facial and not feel rushed.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Sundara Spa for a girls' weekend, and there were both highlights and areas for improvement during our visit.

The villa itself is super cute and provides a lovely setting, perfect for relaxing and enjoying quality time with friends. However, one downside was the positioning of the TV, which is quite low to the ground, making it a bit awkward for comfortable viewing.

Additionally, we encountered an issue with the hot water. We learned that it runs on a 30-minute rotation, which was particularly challenging for our group as we were all trying to get ready at the same time.

Another thing to note is the lack of hand soap in the kitchen, which felt a bit odd, as having the ability to wash your hands is quite essential, especially during meal prep/post-cooking or snacking.

The spa facilities were charming and inviting, but I did feel the service could be more efficient. There seemed to be a lack of urgency from the bar and spa staff, which might be something they could improve upon for a smoother experience.

On a positive note, I appreciated the free services that were offered, and I liked the mindful reminder that cell phones are not allowed, allowing everyone to truly be present and enjoy the moment. Overall, while there are some areas that could use improvement, Sundara Spa has a lot of potential for a wonderful retreat.

While a very popular spa with an excellent reputation, I found it yet again disappointing.

Basic massage was okay but not excellent. Even though I explained what areas were important, she spent little focus on those and completely ignored the number 1 requested area to address. She also was poor on judging pressure even with feedback. The day was a gift from my friend. When I found out the service she had arranged I called the full week before to upgrade and/or add extra things to enhance the basic. I was informed the did not have the ability to accommodate me (if they had it would have gotten them double the original price). This was impossible for a Tuesday afternoon appointment.
The volume of guests in several areas was nearly too many.
On the plus side the infinity pool was great. It was a clear sunny day in the mid to low 40's and sitting in the chaise was lovely. The other pool area (saltwater) was only partially open outside. Inside it had a swim up bar, pool, hot tubs. It felt more like a spring break party then spa.
Finally we ate in the 2nd floor cafe. It was nearly deserted. Food while a little pricey, was great and the server wonderful.

This is the 3rd time in 20 years I have been there. It simply in my view, has never lived up to the reputation. You would be better off at any of the Kohler sites or some other Wisconsin spas.

Wow! My husband & I stay here when we just need to take a break from real life. It works every single time! This place is immaculately clean. You can tell they take pride in their facility. They have complimentary beverages in all of the different areas and even some complimentary snacks. The swim up bar is putting out really great drinks & they have a FULL list of mocktails, which is appreciated. Their food is also very very good. The rooms are incredible - this place makes you want for nothing except a longer stay. We cannot recommend them enough.

Stay was underwhelming which is unfortunate as a few years back the place really was a relaxing getaway. It seems that there has been a shift in focus to accommodate day pass members over folks actually paying to spend the night. The issue
With that is it makes the common area “spa” facilities unusable as there are literally herds of people in the whirlpools. As previous reviewers mentioned pools are lukewarm and with mass of people just not appealing.

Woodland rooms are nice and walking trail is pleasant.

Its just not worth the drive up from the City any longer. Could just staycation at one of the many great city hotels and have much more value for the money.

We really enjoyed our stay! The shower in our room was incredible! Think 5 shower heads and the most amazing rainfall shower ever. The dining on-site is excellent and the service was great. We loved the flatbread, breakfast croissant, avocado toast and bloody marys. We like our massages (couples massage) and enjoyed wandering around the property watching the deer. What needs work is the amount of chlorine in the hot tubs and pools. Our skin was crawling after a day from the amount of chemicals and we have a pool at home! Awful. The swim up bar area is cute but small and the water just because it's seasonally not yet warm, wasn't very enjoyable. The staff was all friendly and I even left my tracker watch after our stay and they promptly mailed it back free of charge which was awesome!
