Tony and Rebecca were really nice to work with. They fixed a problem we had and more. We love staying here for anniversarys or anything special. The restaurant is phenomenal downstairs making the stay complete. It's right on the river. Beautiful place. The beds a too soft for our liking but we do prefer really firm mattresses.

Our wedding at The Surf in Buena Vista was an absolute dream! The setting was stunning, with breathtaking mountain views, the hotel is beautiful and unique that made for the perfect place for our special day.

Everything about the experience exceeded our expectations. The staff was incredibly helpful, ensuring every detail was taken care of so we could relax and enjoy the moment. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the food and drinks, which were delicious and beautifully presented.

The service was top-notch, and the team went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful venue or a more seamless experience. Thank you to Melissa for being awesome with working and planning with us, and to everyone at the hotel for helping make our wedding so unforgettable! Highly recommend!

A beautiful and very unique property with great options for outdoor activities. The rooms are well taken care of and very clean. All the staff were super helpful and friendly. The in lobby dining was delicious and a great atmosphere. Rebecca gave us great adventurous things to do in the area from ghost towns in the mountains, hot springs to feeding fishes. Which were all great. Lots of great local shops and restaurants. I will definitely be back. A big thank you from our family.

Truly, a five-star experience. I have stayed at some of the most expensive five star hotels around the world. This romantic getaway is right up with them. The beauty of the hotel is stunning! From the custom wrought iron wrap around balcony in our suite to the giant comfy claw-footed bathtub, this was a luxury experience. We enjoyed a meal of small bites in the hotels restaurant, Wesley Rose, where our lovely server Kayley anticipated all our needs. The food was delicious. We were lucky to arrive on a weekend where there was live entertainment in the hotel's intimate ballroom.We had never visited Buena Vista before. We have already decided Surf Hotel will be our new destination for relaxation and fun.

Came here for our 20th anniversary and was not disappointed. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The room was clean and nice. I love the balcony by the river. Was that perfect morning sound you love to hear in the morning. They went above and beyond for us. I would highly recommend coming here as I will stay here next time I am in Buena Vista. They also have a great restaurant and bar down stairs where the staff their was also amazing. The food was great!! Be sure to get a name on the list right away as they get really busy.

Tucked inside the Surf Hotel, this newly minted yet quintessentially Colorado bar feels like stepping into a sepia-toned photograph of the Old West—if the Old West had an eye for modern elegance. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between historic charm and contemporary warmth, with a design that nods to the 1800s without feeling like a theme park. The cocktails are expertly crafted, the bartenders deeply knowledgeable, and the riverside setting? Unbeatable. Step outside, and you’re met with the gentle rush of the Arkansas River, its light rapids providing a soundtrack to your evening. Even without a stay at the hotel, this bar alone is reason enough to return.

My husband and I just returned from the most romantic get-away at Surf Hotel in Buena Vista, Colorado. I have stayed at many five-star hotels around the world, this secret gem is right up there. The beauty in every detail of design creates an atmosphere of relaxed luxury.|Our suite featured a wrap-around balcony perched above a rushing river. The room was filled with light from floor to ceiling windows with stunning mountain views. The bathroom's deep claw-footed bathtub was a wonderful unexpected treat! Our weekend booking just happened to coincide with a concert in the hotel's intimate ballroom. The concert hall offered many drink selections but most appreciated several NA beers. The food in the Wesley Rose Hotel restaurant features small plate choices. It was in the restaurant that we met server, Kayley. She like all of the staff of the hotel welcomed us in a warm and friendly way. We can't wait to return back for another long weekend at the beautiful Hotel Surf in Buena Vista, Colorado.

NO hot water discovered an hour before check out time. Hot water is a very basic hotel amenity; without it, no other amenity matters. We visit the Buena Vista area multiple times per year but had not visited this time of year since the Surf Hotel was built. Since it was built, had been wanting to try the Surf Hotel, but could never justify the cost spring-autumn. This winter we had an opportunity to stay in Buena Vista overnight on one of the coldest weekends they've ever had. Since we love the Surf Hotel's lobby restaurant, we decided to stay at the Surf Hotel so we did not have to go outside to get to and from the restaurant. Room was basic. Without hot water for showers (no tubs), we won't be staying here again.
