I've done business with them all and I can say with great confidence that the personal service in the Medicine Shoppe is above and beyond what one would expect. Fred Farkhani, The 'Pharmacist in Charge', is always ready with sound, friendly, knowledgable advice. He offers a truly complete line up of pharmaceutical services, and you can count on him to go that extra mile for his customers. And his busy, friendly staff are ever handy to serve your needs.

As one in my eighties with a complicated pathology requiring a dozen different, often changing prescriptions, I need a pharmacy that i can depend on. The Medicine Shoppe never lets me down. Go there, Try it.

Folks here were great with my grandmother’s medications, but a nightmare with mine. I phoned in a new Rx on Monday, went in to pick it up on Thursday to be told that they didn’t stock it. Also that my insurance didn’t cover it, and there was no generic. Which is obviously not their fault, but one of the pharmacy staff added the editorial that this was a really new medication and why didn’t I get something else prescribed? Which….I’m sorry, what is the point of developing new medications if you’re not actually allowed to use them? And how is that opinion helpful, or any of your business? Anyway, fine after all that I called Rite Aid which did have it in stock, and the Medecine Shoppe said “great, well fax it right over.” I am now at Rite Aid, they have no fax from the Medecine Shoppe, and the pharmacy is closed until Monday.

Long story short - this place is convenient in Ojai, but it has been difficult and unresponsive to actually get my Rx filled. I’m going elsewhere in the future.

By now the staff at the Ojai Medicine Shoppe know me by name. They were very polite and personable even on my first visit. Every time I fill a prescription, have a complicated question, or call they are very nice and very quick to respond. They even call to let me know when something is ready, and scripts only take about 15 minutes to fill. The owner Amani is great and has an excellent staff. As a return customer they have given me their discount program, and sent me coupons. You can't find that kind of personal and polite service at the other big chains (I have had my share of mess-ups from large pharmacies that either 1- take forever, 2- don't have the medicine, 3- are very expensive, or 4- don't care if you come back and treat you as such). The only time I do not shop at Medicine Shoppe is when I am traveling outside the country. Good job guys!
