Wow! FIVE STAR Review for STEPHANIE HARRIS, Expert Hair Extension Stylist.

First, I booked a consultation with Stephanie.  At that meeting, we discussed my hair goals (I was 8 months in on growing out a pixie cut) and the overall process of installing and wearing hair extensions.

She was super patient and thoughtful to explain the entire process and showing me sample wefts. We put together a game plan and I ordered my wefts.

I pre-booked my installation appointment and returned.  Her process was seamless!  Stephanie took her time to do everything with precision. She ordered and (natural) color matched the wefts to my hair so perfectly,  NO ONE can tell the difference!  We did not have to do any added coloring.  She cut my hair exactly what I was looking for----feathery textured layers.  No bad hair day here!

The State Coiffure is a beautiful salon carrying all the must have brands including Oribe and B&B. The receptionist staff was equally pleasant and welcoming.  I am ao impressed by their staff and atmosphere.

I have spent the last 3 years looking for a new stylist and salon---this is it!

Overall:
Vibe ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Quality ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Experience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Location ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I went to this salon and they assigned me a new stylist that didn’t have experienced she made in my hair anything less that I asked. I talked with the manager and she told me that she will fix the issue giving me another appointment with an experimented stylist . Today they call me telling me that she cancelled the appointment because she had a problem . Don’t go this place they are unprofessional and totally unrespectful people .

Shelley was extremely knowledgeable and had good advice for a non-typical combinations of hair properties. She was thoughtful, listened, and was very sharp. She understood what I was trying to get at without knowing any of the lingo (and she didn't make me feel dumb either, like I usually do at fancy girlie places like salons). She really took her time on my first visit and did an incredible job. I waffled a little at the price (which was all clear upfront via the online booking), but I decided to splurge. The first visit (only) was more than for the less experienced stylists, but that experience was worth every penny. Shelley has made a friend for life and I can finally love my hair again.

I had a great experience with Jamie Nelson with my hair coloring. Jamie understood my ask and she gave a great match to my hair color. She is very friendly and a great person to talk to. I am really going back again to Jamie for my future visits. I loved the part of my head massage during hair wash. I am really glad I choose this salon. Great ambience, great people.. I can say it has become my go to salon ❤️ Thank you for the amazing service Jamie!!

Not the haircut I wanted, and the follow-up call was unhelpful. Depending on who does your hair, the salon may not take accountability for what you end up with.

When I came in, I was prepared with 2 very specific images of the haircut I wanted - which mainly consisted of layers, since I already had the length. After showing my stylist, all I got was, "that general idea? sure!" And with that, I tried to trust-the-process, despite seeing 4" coming off (I know this because my bangs now come down to my nose, when they were already below my chin).

When I was done, something didn't feel right about it, but I figured I just needed to wash/style it myself. However, once I did get a chance to play with it on my own, it was definitely NOT the cut I wanted. "Too short" is an understatement. The back also looked mullet-ish, which I subsequently had to fix myself.

When I called to voice my disappointment, I was asked to send pictures. I sent pictures of my hair before and after. I also included the reference images I had shown the stylist.
Here are some of the things I was told:
- Your hair IS the length of the images (I can only roll my eyes here)
- Maybe she cut it so it could grow out? (remember, 4" was already cut)
- Can you come-in in 3 days to get it fixed? (Um... like cut it more, after I said it was cut too short?)

I was also suddenly being told that my hair couldn't achieve what the reference images showed - something about texture. While I disagree, even if that was the case, the length in itself was way off, and too short.
Anyway, styling is the easy part - but you can't style a particular length of hair, if the length is no longer there.

I added that, if a stylist felt he/she couldn't achieve what is being asked, isn't that the type of thing clients should be told BEFORE hair is cut? When I said stylists in the past have warned me whenever I request for something my hair cannot achieve, I was simply told that I was "welcome to go back to those stylists."
After saying her remark wasn't very helpful, I was told my comments would be relayed to the stylist since she is an 'independent contractor'.

I'm not sure why 'independent contractor' was important, other than it may be an indication that the salon wasn't going to take any accountability for stylists in that category.

Unfortunately, I'm now in a situation where if I showed my reference images to another stylist, I would likely be told that my hair has to grow out quite a bit more - and probably in the length that was cut off.
In the end, how disappointed am I? Well, I would have preferred to not have had my hair done at all.

I'm sure there are talented stylists (possibly even there, to be fair) that could have given me what I had wanted - mine just didn't/couldn't. The customer care, the excuses, the retorts, however, well, there's no excuse for that.

I had been looking around for salons and was having trouble finding a place that would get me in within the week (and weren't excessively expensive). So I was stoked when Monica worked some voodoo and got me in the same day I made a request for a consultation.
I had never dyed my hair before and she patiently guided me through the process and helped me figure out exactly what I wanted. The color came out great but wow- I absolutely LOVE the cut she gave me. I gave her pretty minimal guidance, just an idea of how much I wanted cut off and asked her to do what she thought would look best. She proceeded to give me one of my favorite hair cuts to date! She was very thoughtful and took her time to get everything just right.
She was also very fun and interesting to talk to... I look forward to working with her in the future!
